Otter Cove

The building at 232 S. Main St. had been vacant for some time near Miami’s Main Street. Locals recognize it as the former Texaco Service Station owned by the late “Earl Sandmire,” who passed away in 1993. In 1928, Sandmire opened the station, which he operated for forty years. The tribe acquired the property about 20 years ago, but weren’t sure what to do with it. Beside the Route 66 gateway arch you will now find murals painted by locals depicting various aspects of Miami, Oklahoma. Inside, experience a classic diner meal in a nostalgic atmosphere from a time when milkshakes were shared, and vinyl records were played in a glowing jukebox. Complete with spinning bar stools and filled with Native American and Rt 66 history. Make The Otter Cove a stop on your journey along Route 66!
