OTTAWA TRIBE OF OKLAHOMA NOMINATION MEETING

There will be a meeting of the General Council of the OTTAWA TRIBE OF OKLAHOMA for the purpose of nominating candidates for the offices of:

Second Chief

2nd Councilman

2 Grievance Committee members

The meeting will be held at the Ottawa Peoria Building on Thursday, January 30, at 6pm. Address is:

2331 East Eight Tribes Trail

Miami, OK 74354

Reminder: per the Ottawa Constitution, all nominees must be present to accept nomination. Nominations must be accepted in person.

In case of winter weather, the back up date is Thursday, February 6 at 6pm.

Deadline for students to apply for the Tar Creek Apprenticeship Program

A great opportunity for students interested in earning money while connecting with nature on a cultural level! The Tar Creek Apprenticeship Program is once again available in 2025. This event will be held at the Ottawa-Peoria Building in Miami, Oklahoma. Please note that citizens will be required to present a photo ID and Tribal Membership/Citizenship Card. If the Tribal Card has a photo on it, this will satisfy both of these requirements.

The grievance committee met on July 8, 2024, to discuss grievances filed on June 26, 2024, and July 7, 2024.

You must register with your legal name according to the tribal records. No spouses, friends, or anyone not a member of the Ottawa Council according to the constitution will be allowed in.
