Utility Assistance
ELDERS UTILITY ASSISTANCE
As part of our commitment to the well-being of our Elders, we have established various programs and initiatives that aim to enhance the quality of life for its elderly members. One such program is the Ottawa Tribe Elder’s Utility Program, which provides financial assistance to eligible tribal elders over the age of 60 to help them pay their utility bills. This program is an essential lifeline for many elderly members of the tribe who may be living on fixed incomes and struggling to make ends meet.
The Ottawa Tribe Elder’s Utility Program is available for Ottawa Tribal members only.
LIHEAP AND LAHWAP PROGRAMS
The Ottawa Tribe Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and (LAHWAP) are Federally funded programs that provide financial assistance to Native low-income households who meet poverty guidelines to help them meet the cost of home energy and water/wastewater.
