Language Resources

Anishinaabemowin is the ancestral language of the Anishinaabe people. The Ottawas are included in the Anishinaabe people group along with the Ojibwes, Algonquins, and Potawatomis. Now, for the first time ever, an Anishinaabemowin dialect is offered through Rosetta Stone, via a partnership with the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Indians. Find out more about this exciting Indigenous language preservation project and enroll by clicking the button below. Members of federally recognized tribes may submit their tribal ID for a significant discount.

LTBB Anishinaabemowin

This Facebook group is to promote practicing Anishinaabe language for the Little Traverse Bay Band tribal community, LTBB at-large citizens, and all others interested in Anishinaabemowin, by sharing resources, materials and links. The LTBB Gijigowi Anishinaabemowin Language Department will occasionally post materials to teach language, share links to language-learning resources, and distribute flyers or announcements.
